Summer Events at National Liberty Museum

Spread the love

As tourists and locals make their summer plans, the National Liberty Museum announces a series of in-person and virtual programs marking the summer holidays and highlighting the themes evoked by its ambitious new exhibition, In Pursuit: Artists’ Perspectives on a Nation, curated by Philadelphia Sculptors. People living in or visiting Philadelphia can look forward to viewing works by world-renowned artists and participating in thoughtful conversations centered around the powerful artwork currently on display in the museum’s galleries.

Summer Exhibitions:

From now through Oct.28, the museum hosts an ambitious new exhibition, In Pursuit: Artists’ Perspectives on a Nation. Featuring seven internationally acclaimed artists from across the U.S., the exhibition presents art as a form of civic dialogue and delves into the rich complexity of our American stories in a powerful collection of immersive sculptures and multi-media installations.

Visitors can also explore a complementary exhibition Project Liberty: A Design Challenge, which has been extended through July 29. Through a series of hands-on interactives and a dedicated studio space, Project Liberty employs design thinking as a framework for solving problems, big and small, and empowers visitors to be active participants in finding solutions for real-world issues.

From June 29 to July 7, the museum commemorates the Independence Day season with NLM Celebrates: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The week-long engagement includes a community art-making experience inspired by the multi-media installations and sculptures featured in In  Pursuit, interactive button making, and a themed photo booth.  All activities are free with admission.
