Media Arts Council (MAC) continues its new playreading series with Family Business by Stephanie Griffin. Family Business is a full-length, bittersweet comedy about life & death in a tight-knit urban community that dances a fine line between the funny & the tragic.
Questions about motherhood, friendship, expectations, sexuality, family secrets, and the complexities of aging boil as the characters come together for a funeral.

About the Playwright
Stephanie Griffin, is a Philadelphia area award-winning playwright and screenwriter who brings a unique, diverse lifetime of experiences to her literary work. She has a master’s degree in social work, followed by years of producing and video editing for NBC News & a teaching at a high school. Her stories span multiple forms and frequently feature strong women’s roles. Her works have been performed internationally and throughout Northeast and published by Smith & Kraus.
Stephanie is a member of the Dramatists Guild & Philadelphia Dramatists Center, and DGPG & the Theatre Project.
