Community Arts Center’s Friday Night Live spring concert series opens with a celebration of the music of Johnny Cash by local musicians and artists on February 23rd. The live music and art event takes place in the Duke Gallery at CAC, 414 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., complimentary snacks are provided and attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and beverages. Ages 17 and over (must be 21 to bring or consume alcohol). Admission is $15 per person, $10 for Community Arts Center members and free to CAC benefactors.
Featuring local musicians from multiple bands including Will Paynter, Jay Popky, Brian Kors, Paul Downie, Jerry Getz, Dean Sophocles, Alex Uskuraitis, Stacy Weathers and Last Chance (Jack Scott & Ingrid Rosenback), the Cash is King concert will consist of some of Cash’s early and life-long hits as well as some of his Rick Rubin inspired acoustic compositions.
Live art will be created by local artists and CAC faculty members Sally Paynter, Bob Deane, and Drew Arata as well as guest artist David McShane from the Mural Arts Philadelphia. The art they create will be sold by silent auction throughout the event.
